Suggested itinerary for a 3-week trip to Spain, Portugal and Morocco?
I know I’m a little short of time here. I’ll be flying in from Paris and arriving in Barcelona on 5th Nov. My return flight from Paris to my home country is on 26th Nov. I was thinking of flying from Marrakesh to Paris on the 25th or 26th to catch my return flight. Could anyone who’s been to these countries suggest an itinerary which will let me cover all the places I’d like to visit? The must-sees are Barcelona, Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Lisbon, Fez, Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakesh. How many days should I spend at each town/city? I’d be doing a ferry crossing from Algeciras, Spain to Tangier, Morocco. Between Barcelona, should I stop over at Zaragoza or Valencia? Also, are Gibraltar as well as Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol worth visiting too? Thanks a lot!!
You’re going to have to cut some of those “must-sees” out!
We did Madrid, Barcelona, Segovia, Toledo, Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, and Ronda…it took us a month! Honest, and we had all the same cities! (And no Morrocco, and no Portugal, and only one more city in Spain!)
You can’t do it.
Madrid: five days…that includes one for Toledo and one for Segovia.
Sevilla: two to three minimum, one more for Córdoba…you should make that a daytrip from Sevilla.
Granada: one and a half (well, it takes about half a day to get there from Sevilla), minimum.
Barcelona: at least about four or five days. There are about a billion side trips you could make from there. You SHOULD make at least two or three. The city itself should take three days. One for Figueres/Girona, one for Mont Serrat.
That’s two weeks right there, and REALLY packed!
I don’t think Zaragoza is exactly a between spot. If you want to add Valencia, figure two to three days, there, as well. You want to spend about a day or so in the old city and a day or two in the Science City.
I would just put the other to countries on the shelf for another trip.
You might be able to add Morrocco and come back feeling really
exhausted! But then, if you don’t mind feeling exhausted at the end of your vacation, that will be okay.
