In the British Isles, especially England, do people like to eat gingerbread during the Christmas season?
I know it comes from Northern Europe, but I don’t know if it’s commonly associated with Christmas like it is in the States….

No!! Gingerbread was make illegal in england in 1837. the year when a crazy east london butcher created an army of gingerbread and sent them towards the palace. After a 13 hour battle with the Queen’s soldiers the gingerbread were defeated. The butcher was hung one month later at the tower of london on the basis of treason. Gingerbread was then made illegal to stop such events happening again
